Professional Experience
- Frontend Engineer II — Amazon Web Services (3 roles) (Seattle, WA)
- Codex (internal): 5 years of feature work, maintenance, and oncall/offcall support for Amazon's
internal code review and code browsing sites. Added new features including UX design, prototyping,
implementation, and iteration based on customer feedback (e.g. new code review dashboard, multi dry run
build, artifact browser). Many fixes to customer to experience issues in the existing products, where many
of these were self-initiated (e.g. email reduction, a11y colors, filtering comments, code inter-diff
correctness). Additionally, helped shutdown a legacy service, but ensuring to preserve legacy web links
using careful redirection (Devcentral). Lastly, oversaw much of the team's product backlog and helped steer
product direction.
- QuickSight: ~4 years of design and implementation of features for QuickSight, Amazon's BI
analytics product. This included KPI and geospatial charts, and an anomaly exploration page. Additionally
lead multi-team effort to upgrade from React 13 to 16 and drove fixing of many customer experience issues.
- Meetings (internal): ~1.5 years of design, implementation, and customer-centric support of Amazon
Meetings, an internal tool built on AngularJS to facilitate easily searching for a meeting time and
appropriate conference room for Amazon employees.
- Technical Support Engineer — Amazon Web Services (Seattle, WA): ~2 years of
providing deep technical support for a wide array of services (compute, storage, DNS, content delivery, load
balancing, coding) for a range of customer backgrounds. This transitioned into ~1 year of development on
internally used web-based tools, dashboards, and scripts.
